Our Story:

It all started with a 12 head industrial Tajima embroidery machine and a crash course with an intimidating, perfectionist trainer bearing a thick German accent and a long pointed wand. A Stitch Ahead, Inc. has been family owned and operated since 1997 when Frank Mangee first opened the doors at 448 Whitehead Road (he’s still shaking from the memory of that swiftly swatting wand).

It wasn’t long before wife Sarah Mangee joined him to work side by side as they learned the embroidery business together. Originally intended to serve Frank’s roots in national wholesale marching band accessories and uniforms, A Stitch Ahead quickly became recognized by the promotional products industry as a contract embroidery manufacturer. Before long more 12 head and sample machines were added to make a total 40 of heads in under 3 years!

Then in 2003, Sarah spearheaded their sewing and manufacturing division just around the corner, producing marching band color guard flags and dance apparel. As expansion brought an opportunity to move this branch to Ohio where it still operates today, it became obvious that screen-printing was the next logical step. All of a sudden, clients and friends coined our catchy phrase “Your body is your billboard!” and it stuck.

Seventeen years and two children later (eleven year old Chloe enjoys occasionally answering phones and giving facility tours while baby Johnny watches big sis and giggles), we have added staff to better serve the promotional products industry with clever ideas and quick turnarounds. We encourage anyone to feel free to call or visit and allow us to exceed your expectations and wow you with our service. We are conveniently located in Lawrenceville, and serve Princeton and other surrounding New Jersey communities.
